Positive Negative

We get asked this a lot, and it basically boils down to two major factors.

First, Aaron's income is generated entirely online through freelance work he does. We will also work temporary, part-time jobs wherever we go if we need to. We are also open to workamping, or working at a campground in exchange for an RV site and hookups (and sometimes extra cash, too) which drastically reduces our expenses.

Secondly, we will have no monthly mortgage or rent payment tying us down. Tied to that, we will have no electric bills, no gas bills, no water or trash bills. In our current rental situation those expenses cost us over $1,000 per month. On the road, even if we stay at a campground that is $25 a night, that's $750 a month, which includes all of those expenses. Already we're saving money. With campground memberships we can save even more, with nights in campgrounds running as little at $10 a night.

Since we will not be constantly on the move, gasoline is not going to be a "major" expense for us. Our plans are to stay in some areas as long as three weeks. A full tank of gasoline, costing $150-$200 can get us as far as 600 miles to our next stop, where we would stay, again, for 2-3 weeks. Not always, but most of the time.
